Hawaii Dolphin Rescue
In a video filmed off the west coast of Hawaii, a lone bottlenose dolphin approaches several divers and persistently swims around them, revealing that it's caught in fishing lines. It then waits as one of the divers removes the hook and uses scissors to cut the lines, allowing the animal to finally swim away in apparent relief.

(CNN) -- Poachers killed one of Kenya's most beloved elephants -- a behemoth animal with tusks so large, they touched the ground.

Satao was shot with poisoned arrows in the sprawling Tsavo National Park in the country's southeast.

Wildlife officials found his carcass with two massive holes where his tusks once stood. His face was so badly mutilated, authorities used other ways to identify him, including his ears and the pattern of mud caked on his body.

When sharks come to mind, the archetypal vision that tends to prevail is that of an antagonistic, blood-thirsty great white shark in a Hollywood film or sensational television documentary. Sadly, this kind of overgeneralization does a great disservice to the more than 470 fascinating species that currently make up this group of cartilaginous fish.
